Multiple-Effect Evaporator (MEE) is an engineered equipment that uses circulation type evaporators where in the pressurized steam is used to evaporate waste water in a stage-wise manner. The evaporated wastewater condensed is of the quality that can also be recycled within the industry (dependent on the type of effluent input). Concentrated mass from each stage is collected and cooled to precipitate the inorganic salts with the organic contaminants. MVRE (Mechanical Vapour Recompression Evaporator) is an efficient energy recovery option wherein a mechanical compressor is used to increase the pressure and temperature of vapour and is then reused to heat and evaporate more liquid. It is an energy recovery operation which can be used to recycle waste heat i.e. latent heat to improve energy efficiency.
